The studio at Machines with Magnets is impeccably modern, invitingly warm, and affords an environment of expert professionalism, cozy informality, and positive vibes: an ideal setting to work and create. With a diverse portfolio of recordings, each project we engage receives unique and undivided attention, aided by the best quality analog and digital equipment.

Studio A

Operated by Producers/Engineers Keith Souza and Seth Manchester, Studio A specializes in recording, mixing, mastering, post production for film and video, and voice-over and audiobook production. Studio A is a five-room acoustically designed and sound-proofed recording facility that includes a variety of carefully chosen analog and digital equipment, and can accommodate the needs of the most demanding recording situations.

Studio B

Geared towards self-recording and supplemental to the main studio, Studio B is a separate one room production suite that's equipped to properly address many aspects of a production. Whether it's recording overdubs direct so we can re-amp them in the main studio, recording scratch tracks or vocals, editing or recording analog synths and drum machines, Studio B provides a more affordable way to get certain things done without compromising quality.

Amenities

If you're traveling from out of town to record at Machines with Magnets, stay in our comfortable on-site apartment for a small additional fee per night. The 2-bedroom apartment sleeps 6 comfortably (though can accommodate more), and features a fully equipped kitchen with bar seating, dining and living room areas, full bathroom with additional facilities available, central air conditioning, access to laundry, and a laid-back vibe.

Discography

Mastering

A crucial final step to any recording, MWM creates great sounding masters that are competitive in volume, dynamics, and fidelity. We have over 20 years' experience creating professional, high quality, affordable mastering with a combination of analog and digital processing. Mastering is an essential step in production, and we believe it should enhance a recording both aesthetically and sonically.

Audiobooks

Unlike other audiobook + voice over studios, our spacious facility includes a large live room in addition to a smaller, soundproof dead room, perfect for capturing the acoustically tight and true sound that adept voice over work requires. Whether you are looking to do 60 second spot or full length audiobook, our reputation for efficiency and ultra high fidelity are evidenced by the quality and acclaim of our work.
