Established in 2006, Machines with Magnets hosts experimental music performances, sound and art exhibitions and installations, performance art, film and video screenings, cultural and community events, private events, and fundraisers. Past performances include The Body, Dan Deacon, Mirah, Etran de l'Aïr, Braveyoung, Lydia Lunch, Lightning Bolt, Brown Bird, Container, and Mdou Moctar.

When Ekko Astral dropped their searing debut pink balloons in 2024, it would be another year and change before Trump took office and deployed the National Guard to Washington, D.C. Recorded immediately after the 2024 U.S. General Election, Ekko Astral’s second album the beltway is burning was always intended as a real-time historical document in the form of a dark comedy. Each song plays out like a vignette, with Ekko Astral beckoning listeners into their fictionalized version of The Beltway (the area within I-495), in which Adam Sandler is a god-president and the DMV has become a demilitarized zone, a wasteland run by butt rockers and Soundcloud rappers.

Fabric Arts Festival comes to MWM October 6! With performances from Surma, Isabella, and babybaby_explores starting at 8 pm, and late night dance party with DJ Lycox from 11 pm to 1 am. Doors open at 7, and Cape Verdean fare from Izzy's food truck from then on! Fabric Arts Festival is a celebration of art, music, community, and the city of Fall River, Massachusetts. This year's edition has evolved into a regional experience, including Fall River's neighbors: New Bedford and Providence.
Rafay Rashid, born in Islamabad, Pakistan and based in Providence, Rhode Island, makes experimental pop songs that are confessional, ecstatic, and confrontational. His writing emerges as a response to growing up a Muslim kid in a post 9/11 America. Ravi Shavi, the name of his band, became a persona and vehicle for both radical healing and punk empowerment as he crafted a niche amidst the experimental noise and folk music scenes of Providence, Rhode Island in the late 00’s. Formed in 2005, Loma Prieta have been an influential power in the world of post- hardcore for nearly two decades. In that time they have released five LPs and a slew of 7 inch records, EPs and splits, mostly on renowned hardcore label, Deathwish, Inc. Their sixth LP, “Last” will be released on June 30th 2023 via Deathwish, Inc. Loma Prieta have toured the U.S., Europe, Russia, Japan, Canada, and Mexico numerous times, all while members play in several other hardcore bands.
