Works by Lindsay Carone
Lindsay Carone's sculptural work resides in a space that's both sculpture and textile, weaving its way between the two in a knit and playful oscillation. Her inventive use of material evokes a short circuited relationship between the bald severity of post-modern substance and the supple comfort of the hand-woven, breathing life into the two with an intense, frisky chromatism.
Lindsay Carone was born in Mount Kisco, New York in 1984. She earned an MFA in Sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design in 2013 and a BFA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2006. She is a 2015-2016 Fulbright-Nehru Scholar and will spending the coming year in India. Her work has been shown in the Katonah Museum of Art, the Phillips Museum of Art, Saint Joseph’s University, and in the RISD Museum of Art, where she created a site-specific installation as a winner of their annual Sitings competition.
